About me
A Certified Threat Manager through the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, Jared is a subject matter expert in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management now supporting the Arlington Public Schools (APS) Office of Safety, Security & Emergency Management as a Threat Assessment Specialist. Prior to APS, he was a Lead Threat Manager for AT-RISK International providing embedded workplace violence prevention and incident management consultation to global corporate clients. Jared’s start in school safety came through the George Mason University Police Department where he served as a sergeant and co-chaired the University Threat Assessment Team. He is a Certified Master Trainer in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management through the Department of Homeland Security National Threat Evaluation and Reporting Program, facilitating training in threat assessment fundamentals across the United States including for the New York Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services in the wake of the Buffalo, NY, tragedy in 2022. Jared consulted as a Technical Expert Panelist for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration publication on “Prevention and Treatment of Anxiety, Depression, and Suicidal Thoughts and Behaviors Among College Students.” Outside of work you will find Jared exploring National Parks and indulging in a love/hate relationship with iambic pentameter; occasionally simultaneously.
