Adam began his career in public safety in 2005 serving in various capacities that began with the Virginia Department of Corrections (VDOC), the Virginia Department of State Police (VSP) and now the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). He has served as an adjunct instructor with Texas State University, the Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training program (ALERRT), the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and the FBI Academy. While holding the rank of Trooper (VSP) he served as a member of the Division One Tactical Team (SWAT) operating in the roles of Assistant Team Leader, Senior Breacher and Tactical Medicine coordinator. He studied emergency medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University where he completed their Paramedic program and remains affiliated with Chesterfield County Fire & EMS as well as the Operational Medical Support Unit of the Department of State Police. He is certified in Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC). He holds the designation of High Threat Protection Specialist, served on the Executive Protection Unit (VSP) and was responsible for the protection of visiting dignitaries, the Governor and First family of Virginia. Adam was also assigned to the Tactical Operations Unit (VSP) where he was a senior instructor and responsible for the development and implementation of all tactical/specialty training for the Bureau of Field Operations / Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Trooper / Special Agent Basic Schools. Adam maintains sworn law enforcement status as an auxiliary officer at the local level. He holds instructor certifications from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Virginia DCJS and is recognized by the FBI as a General Instructor, Firearms, Driving and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Adam is certified as a subject matter expert in numerous topics to include: Exterior/Interior Terrorism Response for both first responders and civilians, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, Low Light Operations, Combatives, Hostage Rescue, Manual Breaching, Armed Persons/Barricade Threat Operations, Instinctive and Evasive Driving, Counter Pursuit Measures, Operations in Rural Terrain/Non-Permissive Environments, Personal Security Detail (PSD) and Close Quarters Combat. Received awards include numerous Commendations for Actions Under Fire (2012-2020), the highest award presented by Chesterfield County Fire & EMS, the Medal of Honor for Valor (2019) and the highest award presented to a member of Department of State Police, the Superintendent's Award of Honor (2020).
